The BIG architecture firm has reached a new milestone with the Solar One Environmental Education Center, a two-story wood-clad building located in Stuyvesant Cove Park, next to the East River in New York City. The project stands out for integrating photovoltaic solar panels and a battery storage system from the outset, making it the first in the city with this energy infrastructure planned from the beginning. With a surface area of 6,370 square feet, it combines a concrete base with a lightweight steel structure and features large windows that allow natural light to enter and offer direct views of the river.
