Grimshaw Studio, in collaboration with Arup and Gruen Associates, has completed the new LAX/Metro Transit Center, a train and bus station located just outside Los Angeles International Airport. This infrastructure, part of the ambitious Ground Access Modernization Program, connects directly to the urban core via the K and C subway lines, significantly improving mobility for residents and visitors.
In addition to its current functionality, the center is designed to integrate with the future Automated People Mover (APM) system, which will become operational in 2026 and will allow a direct transfer to the airport terminals. This project not only optimizes access to LAX, but also represents a firm step towards a more connected, equitable and sustainable city.
