Steel-clad lakeside shelter in Austin

The River Hills residence, designed by Miró Rivera Architects, sits on a 7-acre site next to a Colorado River reservoir, surrounded by native trees such as bald cypress and pecan trees. Clad in steel, the 660 m² main house is organized in an inverted C-shape around a courtyard, with a central glazed volume that opens the space to the lake. The design includes an infinity-edge pool, a guest house, an elegant two-story dock and gravel walkways that connect all elements of the complex, creating a direct and indirect connection to the natural environment.
