My name is Jesús and I ´m from Mexico and to be honest I didn’t believe in the possibility of being in a Job+J1 Program until this year, and honestly, when I participated since the beginning thru Architect-US it has been a pleasant Job+J1 experience.
After my Job+J1 experience, I now believe that Architects from all over the world can help change some of the assumptions and preconceived ideas in their societies because people are more likely to accept the change from within their society because they are afraid for some reason, rather than from the outside. That is why I strongly believe that the trainee position or exchange program is a worthy experience. They’re one of the most powerful ways to promote young professionals to challenge their skills and experiences from their home country and apply them here in the US and make them even better by learning the American way.
I’ve always wanted to experience working abroad and my dream is finally here. After some interviews, I got an internship at a Trainee position at MV Architects in Hoboken.
Right now I’m starting to settle down in a nice place finally and after going over my fears and hopes I must say….. I love being here! Thanks, Architect-US for making it happen!
