I drive through the Paynes Prairie<\/strong><\/a> every time I go to North Florida<\/strong>– and finally, I decided to stop there to take a look. It is a large park, just South of Gainesville, featuring very different environments that you can enjoy through several lookout points and trails available. This is a wonderful place to walk or ride your bike on the miles of a paved walkway, or you can venture into the heart of the Prairie and see how spectacular is the wildlife. I’ve seen wild horses, alligators, snakes, birds, armadillos, all sorts of Florida wildlife in their natural free habitat.<\/p>\n

Probably this is commonplace for locals but is a treat for me as a visitor.<\/h4>\n

I’ve been to the north side of the park and taken the boardwalk in. It was amazing but closed after only a short distance. Sadly most of the trail is still under water after the last hurricane. I hope to come back another time and enjoy all the paths available.<\/p>\n
