During the fair Architect-US’s team explained the key aspects of participating in the U.S. Government Exchange J-1 Visitor Program<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, covering all the details related to the J-1 Visa<\/strong>. Students, recent graduates and professionals from all technical careers, mainly Architects<\/strong> and Engineers<\/strong>, visited Architect-US’s booth eager to learn more about the Program.<\/p>\n

Among other subjects, the most frequently questions where:<\/p>\n

Q.: How can I obtain a visa to pursue an internship<\/strong> or training<\/strong> in the US?<\/p>\n

A.: In order to comply with the U.S Department of State regulations every exchange visitor needs an official sponsor in order to get a J-1 visa.<\/p>\n

Q.: What are the eligibility requirements to participate in Architect-US Professional Career Training Program?<\/p>\n

A.: Students and young professionals in the field of Architecture<\/strong>, Engineering<\/strong> and Design<\/strong>, ages 18-35, can participate as long as they meet the requirements of one of the following categories:<\/p>\n

Interns<\/strong><\/em>: \u00a0 \u00a0– Students<\/strong> currently enrolled in a University outside of the U.S., or<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 – Re<\/strong><\/span>cently graduated<\/strong> with a degree awarded outside the U.S. within 12 months\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Trainees<\/strong><\/em>: \u00a0–\u00a0Graduated<\/strong> with a degree awarded outside the U.S. + 1 year of experience, and<\/span><\/p>\n

– One (1) year of experience in the field of training, full time, gained outside of the U.S.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q.: Which professional careers<\/strong> are eligible to participate in the Program?<\/p>\n

A.: Students, graduates and young professional<\/strong> of all technical careers<\/strong> in the field of Architecture and Engineering are more than welcome to participate!<\/p>\n

Q.: Can Architect-US sponsor<\/strong> the J-1 visa<\/strong> of a participant who already has a job offer<\/strong> from a U.S. based Company?<\/p>\n

A.: Correct. Architect-US Career Training Program participant’s could either participate in the:<\/p>\n

– “Find your Internship\/Training USA<\/em><\/strong>” Program by which they will\u00a0look for their\u00a0internship\/training opportunity\u00a0in the US and Architect-US will sponsor their\u00a0visa, health insurance and all related paper work; or by contrary, participate in the <\/span><\/p>\n

– “Internship and Professional Career Training USA<\/em><\/strong>” Programs by which Architect-US will\u00a0<\/span>look for participant’s US internship\/training opportunity (providing the Committee of Selection approves their credentials for admission).<\/span><\/p>\n

Q.: The internships<\/strong> \/ training<\/strong> positions offered by the Program are paid?<\/p>\n

A.: All Architect-US Interns<\/strong><\/em> and Trainees<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0will have to have a minimum stipend<\/strong> of $10\/hour\u00a0unless the state minimum wage is higher, in which case state minimum wage shall apply. In case of monthly stipend<\/strong>, the minimum required stipend is\u00a0$1,300\/month.<\/span><\/p>\n
