{"id":7607,"date":"2018-01-13T12:59:15","date_gmt":"2018-01-13T11:59:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.architect-us.com\/blog\/?p=7607"},"modified":"2018-01-23T13:10:20","modified_gmt":"2018-01-23T12:10:20","slug":"an-old-friend-in-town","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.architect-us.com\/blog\/2018\/01\/an-old-friend-in-town\/","title":{"rendered":"An old friend in town!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s always fun to have an old friend in town!!!<\/p>\n<p>Last year I was living in New York too and I was going to an English school, I met there a lot of friends from really different countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When I enrolled in this school I promised myself not to make any friendships with a Spanish speaker <\/strong>(what it\u2019s such an impossible thing).<\/p>\n<p>On my first day in this English school I was sitting in a room surrounded by like 30 other students (almost all from Asian), filling out my papers, <strong>when this student came to me and asked me \u201chablas espa\u00f1ol, no?\u201d (\u201cdo you speak Spanish, don\u2019t you?\u201d). I was like\u2026\u201dWhaat???\u201d. I hadn&#8217;t even talked.<\/strong> So I was like \u201cyes, I do\u201d and she was really happy, when this second student interrupted us and said \u201cme too\u201d. I couldn\u2019t believe it, 5 minutes in that room and I already had this two new friends that spoke Spanish as me, \u201cdamn\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, <strong>after that we became friends and we had a great friendship<\/strong>. I like them so much. I was really sad when they went back to their countries. But\u2026I always thought I was going to see them again, what I didn\u2019t expect was that it was going to be in New York again.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>But this Christmas&#8230;&#8230;.MY FRIEND WAS BACK!!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThis second student\u201d (my friend) just came to New York this Christmas. It was so much fun to have her back in town. <strong>I hadn\u2019t seen her for a year an few months, but our relation was exactly the same.<\/strong> She stayed at my place, and even though she was doing touristic stuff while I was working, we tried to hang out when we could. We went to <strong>a few Japanese places to have dinner<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mentoku-ny.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mentoku Ramen<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.villageyokocho.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Village Yokocho<\/a>..), and even too this Japanese market called <a href=\"http:\/\/sunrisemart-ny.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sunrise mart<\/a>. I showed her around in <strong>Bushwick<\/strong>, and we went to this popular pizza place called <strong>Roberta\u2019s.<\/strong> Also we hanged out at home. We caught up, we did talk\u2026 but what we enjoy most is teaching each other \u201cSpanish from Spain\u201d and \u201cSpanish from Argentina\u201d. We have so much fun every time that we see each other!!!. She was here for 15 days. It seemed short, but I\u2019ll see her soon.<\/p>\n<p>And even though, sometimes I feel resolutions are a bit dump and idealistic,\u00a0others their are awesome. She was here because it was one of her 2017\u2019s resolutions. I&#8217;m really glad that she made it on time! : ).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also I\u2019m really excited to have the oppotunity to live in this city, where you can make a lot of friends from different countries.<\/strong> It really makes you learn a lot of new things, and understand\u00a0people in a better and different way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So, please, get done your 2018&#8217;s resolutions!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Happy New Year!! : )<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>And even though, sometimes I feel resolutions are a bit dump and idealistic, others their are awesome.
