One of the ways to get a project in architecture business\u00a0is through a pitch<\/strong>. It’s something similar to a competition, because there are other architecture firms trying to win the project, but it’s more like a formal presentation directly to the client in order to captivate them and sell your idea<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When I arrived to my company, one of my first commitments was to do an animation<\/strong> for one of these pitches. They liked the sketches I had in my portfolio<\/strong> so they thought it was a good idea to include some sort of sketchy animation in the presentation.<\/p>\n

Thanks to a workmate, I ran into an iPad app<\/strong> called “Procreate”<\/a>.\u00a0It’s more an artistic oriented app than an architecture oriented one because it’s a tool to paint nice illustrations. But it has an interesting feature that records your sketches in individual frames that you can export as a time-lapse video<\/strong>. So your drawing can be shown not just as a still image but as a sketch animation that shows your drawing process. The app offers multiple brushes and editing options an it’s very simple to use, so the results can be really expressive.<\/p>\n

Everybody loved the animation I did and it helped the company to win the pitch!<\/strong> So now we are working in the project and I have had the chance to assist to some meetings with the client and the consultants. It’s a really good professional experience and I’m learning a lot.<\/strong> Because\u00a0to do this kind of animations it’s not enough you know how to do nice sketches, but you have\u00a0to understand many factors that surround the project. Like client interests, program, zoning regulations, building code, etc.<\/p>\n

Since then, I’ve worked and I’m currently working in more animations that helped and may help to win the pitches. So it’s very exciting that your company knows what you can do the best and try to enhance it within their interests.<\/strong> Regarding this, I’m happy and very thankful to my company<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
