Hello! I arrived in Washington, D.C.<\/strong> one month ago, and I want to share a little bit about my experience so far.<\/p>\n

Starting from the beginning: the immigration interview at the airport was very fast, short line, quick questions. However, the shock came while in the Uber<\/strong>. The traffic was insane! It made me realize that L.A.<\/strong> isn\u2019t the only city with traffic problems. People here use the metro a lot, and so do I (even though it\u2019s expensive). I might buy an electric scooter or a bike soon.<\/p>\n

During my first two weeks, I stayed in a hotel that the company paid for. I\u2019m very grateful because it gave me time to settle in and look for a place without feeling that rushed. Finding housing here is tough, there\u2019s a lot of competition. Although my job is in Maryland<\/strong>, I decided to live in D.C. because there\u2019s simply more to do.<\/p>\n

I found a room in a shared house, which is perfect for me. I enjoy living with roommates, and obviously, it\u2019s much cheaper. I had to find\/buy some furniture as the bed, cause rooms are usually rented empty. Luckly that my roommate left some things, but also you can find some cheap options on Facebook market.<\/p>\n

Before moving, I had already been involved with the company, the Spanish headquarters, and the project for a few months. So, the work itself wasn\u2019t a big shock, but meeting in person the people I only knew from Teams calls was one of the best parts. Honestly, going to the office is something I genuinely enjoy… because of the people!<\/p>\n

However, I must say that at the beginning, it was a little tough arriving in a new city without friends, but I should have known that\u2019s totally normal. Adapting to a new place takes time, and I\u2019ve learned that patience is key.<\/p>\n

San Patrick\u00b4s day was fine, but one of the most special moments I\u2019ve seen in the city was the Cherry Blossom Festival. The city was packed! Hopefully next year, I\u2019ll get to share it with my family.<\/p>\n

Overall, this first month has been good, some things settle down and although I need more things to be in order, now is when the fun starts, also with the good weather!<\/p>\n
