I had never planned, much less thought about, going to the United States<\/strong> for a year-long internship. If someone had told me\u00a0<\/span>10<\/span>\u00a0years ago that I would go to New York<\/strong>, I wouldn’t have believed it.\u00a0<\/span>However, here I am, organizing my trip to live\u00a0<\/span>for a year<\/span>\u00a0in the Big Apple<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

It all started when Patricia came to give a presentation at ETSAM<\/strong> explaining what the program was about. At that moment, I had no intention of leaving, although I did aspire to have that international experience that everyone longs for. So, I kept the pamphlet they handed out in case I needed it\u00a0<\/span>in the future<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

A year later, I received an email from Architect-us in my university account informing us that the application period for summer internships in the United States was open. After discussing it with my family, we agreed\u00a0<\/span>that this<\/span>\u00a0was an opportunity for professional growth<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Leaving the country is never easy, even if it’s just for a year<\/span>, but Architect-Us<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0made it more manageable by organizing the interviews, preparing the documentation, and giving tips for the embassy appointment. Those were exhausting months\u00a0<\/span>for me<\/span>\u00a0since I was working, attending language classes, and participating in a competition.\u00a0<\/span>Therefore, I am grateful for\u00a0<\/span>the patience that Georgiana had<\/span>\u00a0with me throughout the\u00a0<\/span>entire<\/span>\u00a0process.<\/span><\/p>\n

For this initial stage, my biggest recommendation is to trust the work of Architect-us, ask any questions you may have because they will be there to clarify them and rely on\u00a0<\/span>the blogs of other participants, as they can give to you practical advice and personal experiences\u00a0 that can help you with<\/span> the application process and prepare for life in the United States<\/span> (I did this a little bit late).<\/span><\/p>\n
