History<\/strong> of Fogarty Finger Architecture<\/h4>\n

Fogarty Finger Architecture<\/strong> was founded in 2003 by Chris Fogarty<\/strong> and Robert Finger<\/strong> and it is based in New York. Having started as a small studio, Fogarty Finger is now a firm that employs over 130 architects with offices in New York, Atlanta and Boston.<\/p>\n

They specialize in Architecture, Interior Design, FF&E Services, and Art Consultation. The company has won over 100 awards for their projects in architecture and interior design, and are regularly listed in both Interior Design’s Top 100 Giants<\/strong> and Architectural Record’s Top 300 lists<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Chris Fogarty AIA, RIBA and Robert Finger AIA<\/h4>\n

Chris is one of the co-founders of Fogarty Finger. He oversees the concept and design development of all architecture projects within the office. After studying architecture at University College’s Bartlett<\/strong> in London, he earned his Master’s Degree from the University of Edinburgh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Robert is a co-founder of Fogarty Finger and oversees the company’s interior design projects. After graduating from Syracuse University<\/strong>, Robert pursued his passion for design at SOM<\/strong>, leading several international projects.<\/p>\n

Matilde Pietrabissa<\/span><\/h4>\n

Matilde Pietrabissa, an Italian architect, received her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Accademia di Architettura<\/strong>, USI (Mendrisio, CH). She made the decision to carry on with her studies and later earned a Master of Science in Architecture from the same university. Her previous work experience includes working as an architect at WeArchitects<\/strong>! She also took part in a workshop with photographer Giuseppe Chiaramonte<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Matilde was able to find an architecture job with Fogarty Finger in the US \u00a0thanks to Architect-US<\/a>‘s visa sponsorship and assistance with the documentation and visa process through the Job+J1 Visa Program<\/a>. Her Trainee Program with Fogarty Finger ran from 20 Jul 2023 to 12 Dec 2023.<\/p>\n

Fogarty Finger Architecture<\/span><\/span>‘s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Selected Projects<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

395 Hudson –\u00a0 New York<\/span><\/h4>\n

The renovation of 395 Hudson’s lobby and fa\u00e7ade, which houses the Carpenter’s Union, honors the workers and artisans who built some of New York’s most iconic structures. They reverently designed and constructed lobby and transformed it from the inside out, using the same materials and high-quality techniques used by its skilled membership. The century-old building, which was once fully occupied by the union, is now home to media, tech, and finance companies. Their aim was to bring the building up to date and make it more appealing while staying true to the union’s original purpose and drawing in new tenants.<\/p>\n

The double-height entry, once overly busy, has been transformed into a sleek, sophisticated, light-filled area. White oak veneer panels, twelve feet high and free of knots, were sourced in cooperation with union millworkers and used to cover the walls. The original dark wood flooring was completely replaced with durable, textured terrazzo. Etched mirror-backed glass applied to walls, in addition to wood and stone, captures the movement and energy of people passing by.<\/p>\n

The long, dark, opulent “tunnel,” which ends at the elevator banks and has low, eight-foot-tall ceilings, has been divided into segments with several destinations spaced along its length. Visitors are led to a designated waiting area with comfortable seating next to the elevators, with the reception located in the center of the space. The 9\/11 memorial is hidden behind a translucent screen in its new location. Now, guests can enjoy quiet time for introspection, and a special area has been set aside to house original artwork honoring the union members’ rescue efforts.<\/p>\n

Savoy Club at the GM Building – New York<\/span><\/h4>\n

One of Manhattan’s most prominent business addresses, the GM Building, is home to the upscale amenity area known as The Savoy Club. The building’s impressive tenant roster benefits from a fitness and wellness center, food and beverage venue, and conference suite all conveniently located on the second floor of the club.<\/p>\n

Savoy Club’s interior design draws from and enhances its surroundings in the GM Building. The amenity area incorporates elements from the building’s lobby, such as the patterned polygonal ceiling inlays, which give the room coherence and define the lofty ceiling heights. This geometry is also reflected in the chamfered bases of these custom nesting coffee tables. The tone-on-tone material language of the building architecture was also incorporated, albeit with a softer, warmer taupe color scheme. The furniture’s color, on the other hand, is more vibrant and reminiscent of the flourishes found on GM vehicles from the 1960s.<\/p>\n

While paying homage to the past, the club is equipped with modern technology, such as full spectrum lighting that changes color throughout the day to mimic circadian rhythms and promote well-being.<\/p>\n

Anagram NoMad – New York<\/h4>\n

Anagram NoMad combines the convenience of communal amenities found in the neighborhood’s boutique hotels with the benefits of living in an apartment just an elevator ride away. Visitors are drawn in by the large picture windows that look out onto the ground floor. There, they can picture themselves relaxing in the ground-floor library and lounge, which have been furnished to give residents the impression that they are at home in an urban setting, or perching on a comfortable chair by the window.<\/p>\n

The amenity areas flow into one another with ease. They consist of a caf\u00e9 and a co-working space, each set apart by a specially designed layout that serves its function and is complemented by unique lighting and artwork. Existing amenities were doubled in size thanks to found space; in the subbasement, for instance, a disused oil tank was removed to make way for a double-height fitness center with a yoga room and climbing wall. The kids’ room features a built-in playhouse and a miniature climbing wall.<\/p>\n

The residential units, finished in neutral tones, are equipped with cutting-edge conveniences and appliances. Some units have been outfitted in collaboration with the wellness and technology startup Delos. These units include features like water filtration systems, air purification, and circadian rhythm-like lighting that can be controlled via an app. Residents can also use concierge services for help with errands, services, and food delivery from a restaurant on the first floor, which they can enjoy outside in a public garden tucked away at the back of the property.<\/p>\n
