French architect Sarah Sioufi is currently working full-time as an architect at <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">WorK Architecture + Design<\/span> in New York after completing her trainee program there on July 23, 2023!<\/p>\n<p>Sarah graduated from the <strong><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">American University of Beirut<\/span><\/strong> in Lebanon with a <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Bachelor of Architecture<\/span> and a <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Minor in Art History<\/span>. She made the <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Dean&#8217;s Honors List<\/span> six times and graduated with honors. Sarah&#8217;s Thesis Project was named a <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Highly Commended Entrant<\/span> in the <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Global Undergraduate Awards<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Despite her young age, Sarah has a varied background in work experience ranging from being an intern at <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><strong>Jamil Saab &amp; Co<\/strong><\/span> where she worked on Marea in collaboration with <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">WorKac<\/span>\u00a0to being a Project Architect at <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><strong>Anastasia Elrouss Architects<\/strong><\/span> where she participated in the <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Construction, Architectural and Interior Design of <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">DAM-MAD<\/span>, a 2500 sqm fare-faced concrete cantilevered villa, the Design and Permit Phase of <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">White House<\/span>, and the Preliminary design of <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Z in White<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0Sarah is skilled in a variety of software that helped her in her career such as <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">AutoCAD<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Adobe Photoshop<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Adobe Illustrator<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Adobe InDesign<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Rhino<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">3Dmax<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Vray<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Enscape<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Grasshopper<\/span>, and<span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"> Adobe Premiere Pro<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>She participated in multiple semester-long study abroad programs while attending University, spending time at<strong><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"> Sophia University<\/span><\/strong> in Tokyo, Japan, and the <strong><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Architectural Association<\/span><\/strong> in London, United Kingdom, and completed a <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Summer Study Program<\/span> at <strong><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">UC Berkely<\/span><\/strong> in California, USA. Complying with their agents&#8217; mobile workflow, the office was made to be adaptable and cooperative. Within the constrained space, a variety of meeting room sizes and designs were needed, along with the ability to accommodate clients and business gatherings. The space was intended to feel welcoming, bridging the corporate and residential sectors. Originally a residential firm, it has more recently ventured into the commercial sector. The existing structure had a distinctive geometry and served as a live-work space. The firehouse, which is registered on the National Register of Historic Places, was constructed in the Victorian style in 1883. The neighborhood&#8217;s character is echoed in small details like paneling, arches, and a planted window box above the garage door.
