On July 23, 2023, French architect <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Sarah Sioufi<\/span> completed her program as a trainee at <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">WorK Architecture + Design <span style=\"color: #000000;\">and<\/span><\/span> is currently employed there full-time as an architect in New York!<\/p>\n<p>Sarah earned a <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Bachelor of Architecture<\/span> and a <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Minor in Art History<\/span> from the <strong><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">American University of Beirut in Lebanon<\/span><\/strong>. She graduated with honors and was named to the <strong><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Dean&#8217;s Honors List<\/span><\/strong> six times. The <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Global Undergraduate Awards<\/span> granted Sarah&#8217;s Thesis Project the title of <strong><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Highly Commended Entrant<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>She participated in multiple semester-long study abroad programs while attending University, spending time at<strong><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"> Sophia University<\/span><\/strong> in Tokyo, Japan, and the <strong><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Architectural Association<\/span><\/strong> in London, United Kingdom. She is currently learning Spanish and speaks many languages fluently, including Arabic, French, and English.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Despite her young age, Sarah has a varied background in work experience for example being an intern at <strong><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">MVRDV<\/span><\/strong> where she <\/span><\/span>participated in the construction of <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Etam Paris<\/span>, went on site visits, drew up construction drawings, and created staircase modeling and renders. In her time at MVRDV she also worked on <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\">Ilots Queyries<\/span> rooftop restaurant. Covered by a working video store from the 1990s, clerks direct guests to activate a moving bookshelf door, which opens to reveal the upscale dive bar hidden behind it. The two stories and historic choir loft of the 6,000-square-foot building have been painstakingly restored to create a mixed-use, multi-family, and commercial space.
