I have lived in two different apartments all within my first few months in New York City<\/strong> and it\u2019s given me the opportunity to experience firsthand the impact of spatial design on one\u2019s daily life. <\/span><\/p>\n

Now settling into my second apartment, I\u2019ve had some time to consider the layout, lighting, and functionality of a living space and how it greatly influence our routines and overall well-being.<\/p>\n

Through this process, I\u2019ve come to appreciate the meticulous thought that goes into creating spaces tailored to the needs and lifestyles of their inhabitants. <\/span><\/p>\n

Here are a few things I\u2019ve learnt about making a space feel like home: <\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Never use the main light. Playing with color, light and shape helps to create an ambience that feels like home. Softer, dimmer light also helps with better sleep so that adds another dimension to experimenting with light. <\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Mirrors double existing space visually and amplify the light across a small space. This definitely helped with my cozy bedroom and it helped with uplifting the mood of the space.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Multifunctional elements help maximise existing spaces and you save money on buying multiple furniture pieces in the long run. <\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Maximise space above cabinets with Closed storage. This can also help\u00a0 <\/span>to make clutter less overwhelming. Adding a clean and minimal feel to the space. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    All of these insights have inspired me to delve deeper even further into the realm of interior architecture and design, with a keen interest in understanding how physical environments continuously shape human experiences. <\/span><\/p>\n

    This introspection has made me acutely aware of the significance of creating nurturing and harmonious spaces, especially in dense urban areas like New York.<\/span><\/p>\n
