Hello everyone!<\/span><\/p>\n

Winter is coming! The coldest season of the year is here. However, New York<\/strong> as the so-called city that never sleeps continues to surprise with all the upcoming plans.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

First of all, if you like ice skating I encourage you to go to one of the ice rinks that the city has to offer. Normally, you have to pay an access fee, however, if you have your own skates you can simply slide into the rink. Some of the most famous rinks are Rockefeller Center or the one in Bryant Park<\/strong>, both completely surrounded by skyscrapers. However, if you like to skate in a larger rink surrounded by trees I recommend Central Park<\/strong>. Usually, the rinks are open until March or even April.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Second, one of the most important winter celebrations is Thanksgiving<\/strong>. In the city you will see many decorations in shop displays, including the famous Macy’s parade.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Another one of the most anticipated times of the year is Christmas<\/strong>. There are many events and shows during December. Some of them are:<\/span><\/p>\n

The lighting of the Christmas trees. Usually, there are also performances by singers or comedians, for example in 2022 Alicia Keys performed among others. You can find them at Rockefeller Center<\/strong> or Bryant Park<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Christmas markets, where you can find everything from food to gift items. Some of them are located in Bryant Park, Grand Central Terminal or Union Square. Normally, most of the Christmas markets will close at the end of December.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You can also discover the Saks light shows on Fifth Avenue. It is an outdoor show that lasts 10 minutes from 5pm to 11pm and you can enjoy it until January.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last but not least, we can’t forget about the Christmas<\/strong> decorations in neighborhoods and houses. Normally, the streets of New York will not have Christmas decorations, unless it is an important square such as Hudson Yards or any of the ones mentioned above. However, houses will be filled with lights and people will be walking back home with fir trees on their backs. If you feel like strolling through a neighborhood with Christmas spirit, the best known for it is Dyker Heights. It is a residential area located southwest of Brooklyn full of single-family homes with gardens. The decoration concept is basically a competition between neighbors in an area where there is no lack of money or lights. It is quite peculiar and sometimes you can even find groups of people singing Christmas carols.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
