Hello everybody! I’m Alberto, a recently graduated architect from Granada, Spain. The story that brings me here began almost a year ago, when I decided to apply for a scholarship by Fundaci\u00f3n Arquia<\/strong>, an entity that allows young architects to do internships in national and foreign studios in Europe and the United States. In the summer of 2022, the results came out and… I had won the scholarship to work at Diller Scofidio + Renfro<\/strong>, in New York City<\/strong>! This opportunity was possible thanks to the collaboration of the foundation and Architect-Us<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Architect-Us<\/strong> has guided and advised me throughout this adventure that finally comes true, since in just one month I will be working and living in New York, a dream made reality. I am very grateful for the treatment received and for all of the help in processing my visa and formalizing my contract with DS+R throughout these months. It is definitely worth the wait, and I encourage everyone to embark on this adventure.<\/p>\n

Regarding my academic background, I studied architecture in Granada, Spain<\/strong>, and I did an international mobility program at the ULB facult\u00e9 d’Architecture, in Brussels, Belgium<\/strong>. And a national mobility program at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, ETSAM<\/strong>. Traveling, living and studying in other countries and cities has allowed me to have a broad education and understand architecture from different points of view. I love discovering new places and meeting new people, and for sure this will be an incredible experience that will make me grow both personally and professionally, as a person and as an architect.<\/p>\n

I am very excited about this opportunity, and I have to thank again Fundaci\u00f3n Arquia<\/strong> and Architect-Us<\/strong> for allowing me to live this unique experience. I look forward to learning and training during my stay in New York<\/strong>. I want to understand how an architectural firm of the stature of DS + R<\/strong> works, and contribute with my knowledge and my skills to my work environment. You will hear from me very soon, once I am settled in NY, I will be writing more posts.<\/p>\n
