As we arrive to the end of June<\/strong>, we are finishing our first month of the Architect-US Portfolio Challenge<\/strong>, <\/strong>which aims to spotlight the beautiful work of our exceptional talent here at\u00a0<\/strong>Architect-US<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>We have posted the work of 13<\/strong> different artists during this month across all of our platforms, but in order to win the $30 Amazon Gift Card<\/strong> for this month, the talent’s work must have garnered the most likes on Instagram<\/strong>. So without further a do… the winner for the month of June<\/strong> is….\u00a0Victoria Fedorova<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0!!!! Fedorova<\/strong>‘s submitted project, Gone with the Wave<\/strong><\/a>, got 106 likes<\/strong> on Instagram over the month of June!<\/p>\n

Fedorova<\/strong> studied industrial architecture at\u00a0Moscow Architecture institute<\/strong><\/a> for her Bachelors degree, and is now enrolled at\u00a0IAAC university<\/a><\/strong> for her Masters degree. Gone with the Wave<\/em>, the project that Fedorova<\/strong> submitted was shortlisted for the Tamayouz Excellence Award<\/strong>.<\/a>\u00a0Fedorova<\/strong> aimed to\u00a0redesign a former landfill in the city of Lagos, Nigeria, which features a sports complex, educational facility and provision of working places.<\/p>\n

In second place<\/strong> we have a tie with 94 likes<\/strong> on Instagram. The two architects who will be sharing second place are\u00a0Guillermo<\/a> Fernandez Villar<\/a>‘s\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Albeniz Theater<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Alberto Lozano Duran<\/a>‘s<\/strong>\u00a0Bahnhofsquartier Opladen<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>Fernandez Villar <\/strong>worked under\u00a0Izaskun Chinchilla<\/a><\/strong>‘s\u00a0supervision at\u00a0San Pablo CEU University<\/a><\/strong>, Villar<\/strong> was able to win the\u00a0Honorable Mention from EPS San Pablo CEU. Lozano Duran <\/b>studied Architecture at ETSAM<\/a>\u00a0<\/b>and then went to start his professional career in Germany at\u00a0kadawittfeldarchitektur<\/a>.\u00a0Duran\u00a0<\/b>is currently working at\u00a0<\/b>HMC Architects<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0in Solana Beach, California, while living his American Dream.<\/p>\n

In third place<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a087 likes<\/strong> on Instagram\u00a0was\u00a0Diana Ghervas<\/a>‘<\/strong> Student Hub<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>a final project for her\u00a03-rd year at the University of Architecture and Urbanism ‘Ion Mincu’ in Bucharest<\/a>,<\/strong> aimed to create a variety of spaces that fuse collaborative areas with areas for privacy. She is now trying to make her way to the USA for a career changing experience.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0fourth place<\/strong> with 82<\/strong>\u00a0likes<\/strong> on Instagram\u00a0was\u00a0Bianca Dobru’s Urban Development in Bangalore<\/a><\/strong>, a project that she contributed to while working with UNStudio<\/a>. <\/strong>Bangalore is fast becoming the Silicon Valley of South Asia, and thus is in need of pro-active and practical urban development plans.\u00a0Karle Town Centre (KTC)<\/strong>, is being created with new data input technology.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0fifth place<\/strong> with 70 likes<\/strong> on Instagram\u00a0was\u00a0Cristian Daniel Cordova Molina<\/a>‘s Redefining Transportation Hubs<\/a>, <\/b>where he\u00a0<\/b>sought to\u00a0provide a traffic and congestion solution for\u00a0Cuenca, Ecuador<\/strong>. Molina\u00a0<\/strong>aimed to\u00a0relocate the bus station of Cuenca<\/strong> in two areas of the city, one north and one south. Molina<\/strong> is\u00a0currently working at MVMK Architecture<\/a><\/strong> in Hoboken, NJ.<\/p>\n

In six<\/strong>th place<\/strong> with\u00a069 likes<\/strong> on Instagram was Einat Lubliner<\/a>‘s Urban Development and the Need for Parks<\/a>. Lubliner\u00a0<\/strong>created\u00a0this project\u00a0as an academic project in her final year\u00a0studying Architecture at The Technical University of Tel Aviv<\/a>. Lubliner<\/strong> focused on targeting the\u00a0conflict between the urban development process on the one hand and the necessity for the existence of city green lungs on the other.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0seven<\/strong>th place\u00a0<\/strong>with 63 likes<\/strong> on Instagram was\u00a0Artur Machmutov<\/a>‘s\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Manarda-51<\/strong><\/a>, which is a plan to create further\u00a0accommodations that are dictated by the need of the population of western Siberia to have a healthy nutrition source nearby.\u00a0Machmutov<\/strong>\u00a0created this beautiful plan for a sustainable accommodation for his Final Thesis work to receive\u00a0his Master of Architecture at KSUAE<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In eighth place<\/strong> with\u00a058 likes <\/strong>on Instagram was\u00a0Alvaro Follana’s\u00a0Public Baths for the City of Madrid<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0who created this project for his final thesis in his Master’s Architecture program at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria<\/a>. He was awarded the second best note of the call for his work.<\/p>\n

In ninth\u00a0place<\/strong> with 53 likes<\/strong> on Instagram was\u00a0Mujung Ryan Chiu<\/strong>, who is now working in Chicago with Wheeler Kearns Architects.<\/a>\u00a0Chiu <\/strong>worked on\u00a0Paving the Palimpsest<\/strong><\/a> and submitted this great work to the Paris Affordable Housing Competition<\/strong><\/a>. The competition that Chiu was part of\u00a0“…seeks unique ideas for cities around the world facing housing shortages, and the corresponding exacerbation of social and economic imbalances.”<\/p>\n

In ten<\/strong>th<\/strong>\u00a0place<\/strong> with 51 likes<\/strong> on Instagram\u00a0was\u00a0Alicia Palacios<\/a>‘<\/strong>\u00a0Polytopies (P.L.U.G)<\/a>,<\/strong> which she created\u00a0for her final thesis project at the School of\u00a0Architecture in the University of Malaga<\/a>. The main goal was to design a city model of ephemeral, mobile and changing in time and space through activities nodes connected to areas of temporary demand. Palacios<\/strong>\u00a0will be\u00a0joining Karim Rashid<\/strong><\/a> this year!<\/p>\n

In eleventh place<\/strong> with 47 likes<\/strong> on Instagram was\u00a0Ellina\u00a0Poltavtseva<\/a>‘s\u00a0Bathhouse<\/a><\/strong>, which was created as an academic project in her final year studying Architecture at Moscow Architectural Institute (State Academy)<\/a>.\u00a0The building consists of straight perimeter and sculptural \u201cstuffing\u201d of public baths. All spaces of public baths are unique sculptures each of them create exclusive emotional experiences.<\/p>\n
