Hi Everyone!<\/p>\n

I am Giovanna Gomez<\/strong>, I am an architect from Veracruz, Mexico, living in Mexico City, I moved here almost 6 years ago for work and have always dreamed of working in the USA<\/strong>. I remember in 2018 that I would like to study for a master\u2019s or work in another country and in my search on the internet \u201cHow to work as an architect in the USA?<\/em><\/strong>\u201d I found Architect-US<\/strong><\/a>. That year I applied for the Job+J1 Visa Program<\/strong>. They accepted me but that year I was not ready to follow the process. I did not feel secure with my English skills and I decided to start an English course first here in Mexico City.<\/p>\n

In 2020 I wanted to return to my dreams of taking studies or working in another country but with the pandemic, all my plans were down. I went to NYC <\/strong>in\u00a0May 2021\u00a0 to take my covid vaccine and when I was walking on the NYC streets I decided that I would like to find a job there<\/strong>. In June when I sicked of covid I started to do my resume and my portfolio in English. I did not know how to do it, because on the internet you can find a lot of templates but for example, I did not know that you can not put your photo on your resume if you want to apply for a job on the USA.<\/p>\n

I found again the amazing company Architect-US<\/strong> on Instagram, they gave me some tips in free zoom\u2019 sessions about how to do a portfolio and later I decided to take their Go Portfolio Pro<\/strong><\/a> course in November 2021. With their help, I could finish my, resume, my portfolio, and my reference letters with the security of being able to apply for different companies with the USA<\/strong> requirements. In April 2022 I started my job search on my own but in May I decided to apply again to the Job+J1 Visa Program<\/strong>. They accepted me and I decided to follow the next steps with the pool of candidates to start my job search with Architect-US<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In only one week I had my first Interview<\/strong>, I was a little nervous but the Architect US<\/strong> team send me 5 tips to take into consideration for preparing for my interviews. I received different interviews with stunning companies<\/strong> like Jordan Parnass Digital Architecture, Cetra Ruddy, GF55 Architects, SCG America,<\/strong> and finally Turett Collaborative<\/strong>. It was an amazing process that I never forget because I met amazing people, directors, and owners of big companies in LA and NYC<\/strong>. I learned a lot in this process to know where I stayed at this moment and what I am looking for in my new role.<\/p>\n

At the same time, I had a lot of interviews on my own with other companies but I decided to follow the process of the Job+J1 Visa Program<\/strong> because the company that I choose give me an amazing opportunity and an amazing training plan to learn and improve my knowledge in the USA. I can\u2019t believe that in only 3 months I received 4 job offers<\/strong> but I decided on the offer that is more aligned with my current personal and professional objectives and goals.<\/p>\n

Architec-US<\/strong> helped me with all the documents and the sponsorship<\/strong> that I needed for the J1 Visa<\/strong>. Yesterday I went to my first visa appointment to take photos and fingerprints. The next Monday I will have my interview at the Embassy. Architect-US has already sent me the tips to have a successful interview at the Embassy.<\/p>\n

For now, I enjoying my last days with my family and my Friends in Mexico.<\/p>\n

As you read I have spent many moments in my life in which I have not decided to enter the program. But everything happens for a reason and everything comes at the right time. This is my year and I\u2019m very excited to move to NYC<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Without Architect-US it would not have been possible complete my dream. I feel enormous support<\/strong> throughout this process.<\/p>\n
