September<\/strong> was a month full of incredible projects, but October\u00a0<\/strong>has been a little spookier and defined by projects that seek to provide public spaces for communities of all kinds to congregate and connect.<\/p>\n

With\u00a04<\/b>\u00a0artists’ work being presented throughout the month on all of our different platforms, we have the final winner with the most likes on Instagram<\/strong>!!<\/p>\n

The winner of the $30 Amazon Gift Card<\/strong> for this month, the month of October<\/strong> is… Ramses Terrero’s Floating District<\/strong><\/a> which\u00a0<\/strong>garnered the most likes on Instagram<\/strong> with 64 likes<\/strong> in October<\/strong>!!<\/p>\n

Floating District\u00a0<\/strong>seeks\u00a0to take back the port spaces in major cities that normally are sacrificed to promote trade and fortify supply chains. Yet these spaces are for one purpose, rather than many purposes that could also serve the community nearby the ports. Ramses\u00a0<\/strong>shows us how these spaces could be either repurposed or serve multi-use purposes, in which the port could also be a space for community collaboration and open space that could improve property value around the port.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0second place<\/strong> was\u00a0Oleksandr Guk’s<\/a>\u00a0Mountree<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0with over 41 likes\u00a0<\/strong>on\u00a0Instagram.\u00a0<\/strong>Oleksandr<\/strong> prides himself on his attention to small details, especially when it comes to schematic design and construction documents for projects of all sizes.\u00a0<\/span>Mountree<\/strong> is a prime example of how he has been able to improve his designs over time and provide a top notch service for his clients in the Ukraine. He\u00a0applies his skills in BIM along with his eye for design to create this quaint, yet utilitarian design for a family to make the most of their abode.<\/span><\/p>\n

In\u00a0third place<\/strong> was Riccardo Zocche’s <\/a>Nepal Pavilion EXPO Dubai 2020<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0which was able to garner 29 likes<\/strong> on\u00a0Instagram.\u00a0<\/strong>Nepal Pavilion EXPO Dubai 2020\u00a0<\/strong>provides the designs for a pavilion inspired by Nepali design, and that is hosted in Dubai. As you can see below, he goes into the small details and takes into account the mobility throughout the space, as well as the areas in which art and culture will be displayed for onlookers to enjoy.\u00a0Riccardo<\/strong> studied in Milan at the Politecnico de Milano<\/strong> and was able to travel the world while studying and working, not only in Europe, but also in Istanbul and Queensland in Australia.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0fourth place<\/strong> was Fernanda Azevedo’s <\/strong><\/a>Public Life<\/strong><\/a>, which was able to gain 25 likes<\/strong> on Instagram<\/strong>.\u00a0Fernanda,\u00a0<\/strong>a top notch Brazilian architect in our\u00a0Architect-US<\/a> Job+J1 Visa Program<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0last time provided us with her project called Roosevelt School of Arts<\/strong><\/a> to the Portfolio Challenge. This time around she published her project called Public Life.\u00a0<\/strong>A project that seeks to create a public space for the community that is able to satisfy the wide variety of needs that is necessary when creating public arenas.\u00a0Fernanda<\/strong>\u00a0employs an urban strategy focus in the creation of monuments of permanence, as discussed by Aldo Rossi in the book The Architecture of the City, the main concept of the urban strategy relies on the design of qualitative local spaces.<\/p>\n
