If you\u2019ve been in the US for longer than 2 years for the last 6 years period, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.irs.gov\/Individuals\/International-Taxpayers\/Substantial-Presence-Test\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Substantial Presence Test<\/b><\/a> will determine your tax residency.<\/p>\n<p><b>How to File:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>We have teamed up with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sprintax.com\/uni-lp.html?utm_ref=architectus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Sprintax<\/strong><\/a> to provide you with easy-to-use <strong>tax preparation<\/strong> software designed for non-residents in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p><b>Documents you must gather for Sprintax:<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Passport<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Visa\/Immigration information, including form I-20 (F status)<\/strong> or<strong> form DS-2019 (J status)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Social Security<\/strong> or <strong>Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (if you have one)<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This is not needed if you had no income and the 8843 is the only form you have to file.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>W-2<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This form reports your wage earnings if you worked. If you had more than one employer\u00a0you should get a W-2 from each employer. It is issued by the end of January for the previous year.\u00a0Make sure all employers from last year have an up-to-date address for you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>U.S.\u00a0entry and exit dates for current and past visits to the U.S.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>In addition to passport stamps, you can review or print your U.S.travel history\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/i94.cbp.dhs.gov\/I94\/#\/history-search\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>1099<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This form reports miscellaneous income. Can be interest on bank accounts, stocks,\u00a0bonds, dividends, earning through freelance employment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Stimulus check? <\/strong>If you received this, chances are you got it in error and need to file an amended return too.
