Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project<\/a> is one of the greatest construction sites in Manhattan<\/strong> right now, located in Chelsea and Hudson Yards<\/strong>, just in front of the Hudson River<\/strong>. There was a rail yard for the subway in this location. They changed the zoning, and by a single but complicated operation of covering all the infrastructure and the rails, the construction of high-rise buildings is possible. The High Line Park<\/a><\/strong> starts in the heart of Chelsea<\/strong>, in the Whitney Museum<\/strong>, and finishes here in the north, in Hudson Yards<\/strong>, but there are plans of a future expansion by Diller Scofidio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the Vessel<\/a> is now is temporarily closed<\/strong>. The impressive structure of stairs and view decks was designed by the British designer Thomas Heatherwick<\/a> and Arup.<\/a> The platforms are connected with multiple stairs rising to 46 meters high. Despite compiling with ADA<\/strong> code, the touristic place was sadly used three times by people that jumped from the structure so the Developer decided to close it temporarily to the public, revise the design and increase the safety measures to avoid new dramatic and sad situations.<\/p>\n

The Edge<\/a> is located in the 30 of Hudson Yards<\/strong>. The observation deck is a triangular terrace on the 100th floor, the highest in our hemisphere! The elevator is crazy fast. It takes no more than 40 seconds to arrive from the floor to the terrace. The walls are covered in screens where you can see an animation of the construction of Hudson Yards, from the sketch to the final renderings. Once you arrive on the 100th floor, there is a two-store observatory. You can appreciate the views of New Jersey and the Upper West Side through the west and the north windows. The crown jewel of the building is the triangular platform. I think it is one of the most interesting rooftops in New York<\/strong> because it is in the correct place to see Midtown, the Empire State, the Chrysler Building, and Central Park<\/strong>. At the same time, you can see downtown and the new World Trade Center. The terrace is an enormous cantilever. There is a glass on the floor so you can see down from there. When you reserve the tickets, be sure about two things. One (and the most important) is the weather. Secondly, find a ticket<\/a> where you can see the sunset so you can experience the city by day and night<\/p>\n
