SB+C<\/a> Architecture Project<\/h4>\n

Vista Chelsea Bridge, Battersea<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

SB+C<\/strong>\u00a0was challenged to create a structure that connects between the main Nine Elms<\/strong> development and Battersea Park<\/strong>. The design was focused on the views across the park by trying to embrace them and incorporating soft landscape wherever possible.<\/p>\n

The goal was to achieve urban density with suburban, private amenity spaces.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The penthouses create a variety of private garden spaces that feel like an extension of the park thanks to infinity-style edge planting. The massing steps were created to create an organic and curvilinear built form.<\/p>\n

Heathrow West, London<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

SB+C<\/strong> wanted to create a\u00a0design that incorporates a processor and a satellite pier connected with 300 m long passenger bridge that travels over aircraft stands and the taxiway. The bridge connects the new terminal to a satellite pier, offering a new passenger experience that is integral to the travel experience.<\/p>\n

The journey across the bridge will be an integral part of arriving, departing and transfer passenger journey.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Istanbul Airport<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

SB+C<\/strong> was tasked with creating the world\u2019s largest terminal to serve as a hub for Turkish airlines<\/strong> on a green field site by the Black Sea in Istanbul. The new international and domestic terminal needed to serve an initial capacity of 80 million passengers per annum and allow for expansion through the use of remote piers to increase its capacity to 120 million passengers per annum before the need for building a second terminal building.<\/p>\n

The design of the vaulted ceiling with the central processor and piers are inspired by Turkey\u2019s architectural heritage as seen in many of the Mosques in Istanbul.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
