FXCollaborative <\/a><\/strong><\/span>is a New York City<\/strong>-based architecture, interiors, and planning design firm. Founded in 1978<\/strong>, the firm leverages broad experience to enrich our world with responsible, intelligent, and beautiful design. The firm\u2019s holistic approach integrates client aspirations, an urban sensibility, and a celebration of the craft of building. FXCollaborative<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u2019s work ranges from the scale of individual buildings and interiors\u2014office towers, multi-family residences, cultural facilities, workplace, K-12 and higher-education institutions\u2014to the city as a whole, addressing infrastructure and transportation.<\/p>\n

FXCollaborative<\/a><\/strong><\/span> has been a pioneer in the green building movement since its founding over 35 years ago when Principal Bruce Fowle<\/strong> became known for designing solar-responsive, naturally-ventilated homes. In the 1990s<\/strong>, the firm took sustainable design to new heights with the first green high-rise in Shanghai, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (1992); and in New York, the Cond\u00e9 Nast Building at 4 Times Square (1999). As the first green skyscraper<\/strong> in the United States<\/strong>, 4 Times Square’s unprecedented integration of sustainable design principles and technologies galvanized the green building movement and was a catalyst for the development of the USGBC’s LEED rating system.<\/strong><\/p>\n

FXCollaborative <\/strong>also prides itself on its collaboration<\/strong>, which is at the heart of the design process, strengthened and enriched by the contributions of those who bring diverse experiences and views. The texture of varying beliefs, values, and backgrounds informs how they see the world, and are at the very core of our ability to serve their clients and community.<\/p>\n

Architect-US<\/a><\/strong><\/span> helps young international talent find internships or training opportunities in the United States based on their background and interests. Architect-US<\/strong> provided leadership, guidance, and support to FXCollaborative<\/strong> in securing a visa for Alejandro Tintore King<\/strong>\u2014a student from Spain studying at the City College of New York<\/strong><\/a><\/span>\u2014which allowed him to work at their firm as an intern trainee for one year. During his time at FXCollaborative<\/strong>, Alejandro become an integral part of their team and made significant contributions to several projects within their urban design and planning studio.<\/p>\n
