There is no doubt that in the current situation one of the best places to spend time is in the parks, and fortunately, New York<\/strong> has a great variety of parks, each one better. But without a doubt, 3 parks stand out: Central Park<\/strong>, The High Line<\/strong>, and Prospect Park<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

– Central Park<\/strong>: Without a doubt the park par excellence of New York<\/strong>, located in the middle of the district of Manhattan<\/strong>, between 59th and 110th streets and 5th and Central Park West<\/strong> avenues. It occupies an area of 3.4 square kilometers. The park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, who later created Brooklyn<\/strong>‘s Prospect Park. While much of the park looks natural, it contains several artificial lakes, two ice skating rinks, and grass areas used for various sporting activities. The park is a popular oasis for migratory birds, making it a popular spot for bird watchers.<\/p>\n

– The High Line<\/strong>: One of the most recent parks in New York City<\/strong> (the first phase opened in 2009 and the last one in 2015), also located in Manhattan. It is a 2.3 km linear park, running from Gansevoort St. and continuing to the Hudson Yards<\/strong>. It is located on an elevated section of the former New York Central Railroad’s East Side Line<\/strong>. The multidisciplinary project was undertaken by James Corner Field Operations<\/strong>, Diller Scofidio + Renfro<\/strong>, and Piet Oudolf<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

– Prospect Park<\/strong>: Brooklyn’s Central Park<\/strong>, in fact, was designed by the same architects, once they finished with the design of Central Park<\/strong>. The park is located between the neighborhoods of Park Slope<\/strong>, Prospect Lefferts Gardens<\/strong>, Ditmas Park<\/strong>, and Windsor Terrace<\/strong>. Inside we can find the largest green space in the United States<\/strong> (Long Meadow<\/strong>), the largest lake in Brooklyn<\/strong>, a Quaker cemetery, and like its big brother, it has its own zoo and skating rink.<\/p>\n
