They went over\u00a0her experiences working in <strong>Florida<\/strong>\u00a0for <strong style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hoosarch.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hoos Architecture<\/a><\/strong>, her academic experience in <strong style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Australia<\/strong> at Kaplan University, and more recently, how she was\u00a0able to win an <strong>O1 Visa. <\/strong>As a Brazilian she was able to\u00a0explain some of the key differences that <strong>Brazilians<\/strong> must deal with when getting Visas.\u00a0Although\u00a0<strong>Nathalie<\/strong>\u00a0joined\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.architect-us.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Architect-US<\/strong><\/a> more recently, she has a very interesting story to tell.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Tips on how to win the O1 Visa (Interview)\" width=\"770\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fDMPYO8DlGM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nathalie<\/strong> has always been a hard worker\u00a0and has had a can-do spirit. When\u00a0she started studying <strong>Architecture<\/strong> in University in Brazil, she was also working a full-time job for three out of her four years. After that she took these skills and experiences to apply for the opportunity to work in <strong>Belo Horizonte<\/strong> on the new Airport. <strong>Nathalie<\/strong> was given the responsibility of ensuring the construction companies were following the designs to the tee.<\/p>\n<p>Once she had gotten a good taste of the <strong>Architecture<\/strong> scene in both <strong>Sao Paulo<\/strong> and <strong>Belo Horizonte<\/strong>, Nathalie decided to improve her <strong>English technical skills<\/strong> by completing her Masters at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaplan.edu.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Kaplan University<\/strong><\/a> in <strong>Australia<\/strong>. Once she finished her Masters, she decided to shoot her shot at finding an opportunity in the USA. Eventually, she was able to obtain a position at\u00a0<strong style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hoosarch.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hoos Architecture<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in\u00a0<strong>Florida<\/strong>, which she choose over\u00a0<strong>New York City<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>California<\/strong> due to the connection she felt with Tom and the team, as well as the weather.<\/p>\n<p>Her <strong>advice for young professionals<\/strong> just starting off in the industry is to always accept new opportunities, even if they exactly align with your career goals. Because at the end of the day, firms are looking for people that are interesting and able to connect with the client. One of the key differences that <strong>Nathalie<\/strong>\u00a0mentioned between working in Brazil and the USA is the tight knit relationship that is formed between the client and the architect. She truly enjoys forming these everlasting bonds cause it makes the work even more rewarding.<\/p>\n<p>Another aspect that was highlighted in terms of the experience of obtaining the <strong>J1 Visa<\/strong> and then the<strong> O1 Artists Visa<\/strong> after, is the importance of having recommendation letters ready to go ahead of time.
