Paula Hernandez<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and our\u00a0CEO Patricia Garcia<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>met for our first installment of the newly revamped Interview Series<\/strong>. They went over her life story and how her career has progressed, and what she has been able to achieve and learn in such a short time.<\/p>\n

Paula Hernandez<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0has wanted to be an architect since she first saw La Sagrada Familia<\/strong> in Barcelona<\/strong> when she was 7 years old!\u00a0At such a young age, <\/span>Paula<\/b>\u00a0was already planning her way to New York City<\/strong> and London<\/strong>. Her father had lived and experienced the American Dream in Boston at a young age as well, and his stories animated her to replicate her father’s footsteps.<\/p>\n

Now <\/span>Paula<\/strong>\u00a0has had the chance to work with some of the greats at <\/span>Handel Architects <\/b><\/a>in<\/span> NYC <\/b>and <\/span>KPF<\/b><\/a> in<\/span> London<\/b>! <\/span>She more recently won an <\/span>H1B lottery spot<\/b>, and will be extending her career in the USA<\/strong>!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The aim of this series is to provide our community with the opportunity to learn and connect with JOB+J1 Visa Program<\/strong> participants that have fought for their dreams and succeeded! \ud83d\udc4d Although\u00a0Hernandez<\/strong>\u00a0joined\u00a0Architect-US<\/strong><\/a> more recently, she has a very interesting story to tell.<\/p>\n

When she was just out of university,\u00a0Hernandez<\/strong> could not keep still. She started applying to job opportunities all over the world, but more specifically in New York City<\/strong> and London<\/strong>. She viewed her strong English skills as an asset that could be valuable for for international firms based in USA<\/strong> and UK<\/strong>. After a couple of months\u00a0she got the chance to interview with Handel Architects<\/strong><\/a> and got the job!! She mentioned that they valued her experience Interning at a firm in Amsterdam<\/strong> during her Master’s at ETSAM<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
