Fall is upon us! July<\/strong> was full of incredible talent, and now we have the \ud83d\udd1d talent of\u00a0August<\/strong>!!! Who do you think was the best?<\/p>\n

Our second month had our highest like count<\/strong>, what will the\u00a0third\u00a0month of\u00a0Architect-US Portfolio Challenge<\/strong> provide!! \ud83d\udc40\ud83d\udc40<\/p>\n

With\u00a08<\/b>\u00a0artists’ work being presented throughout the month on all of our different platforms, we have the final winner with the most likes on Instagram<\/strong>!!<\/p>\n

The winner of the $30 Amazon Gift Card<\/strong> for this month, the month of August<\/strong> is… Fernanda Azevedo<\/a>!!! \ud83e\udd73\ud83e\udd73\ud83d\udc4d\ud83d\udc4d\ud83d\udd1d\u00a0<\/strong>Harboring Island<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0garnered the most likes on Instagram<\/strong> with 253 likes<\/strong> in August<\/strong>!! \ud83d\udc40\ud83d\udc40\u00a0Azevedo<\/strong> came 3 likes<\/strong> away from last month’s winner Yi Jun Aston<\/a>‘s<\/strong>\u00a0The Hive @ Sydney, Australia<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0which got 256\u00a0<\/strong>likes on Instagram over the month of July<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Azevedo<\/strong>\u00a0submitted their project for their Thesis studies at Politecnico di Milano<\/a><\/strong>, Azevedo<\/strong> received a\u00a0grade of 7\/8\u00a0<\/strong>. They have worked\u00a0at Relativity Architects<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for a year before!\u00a0Azevedo<\/strong>\u00a0has been interested in understanding how design is informed by communities and the way\u00a0we experience our lives. Within\u00a0America<\/strong>\u00a0it has been widely discussed that community trust is low and community involvement must be promoted. Azevedo<\/strong> proposal outlines how Architecture can design for community interaction.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0second place<\/strong> was Giulia Pierotti<\/a>‘s\u00a0Living on the Edge<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>with 241 likes <\/strong>on Instagram.\u00a0<\/strong>Pierotti\u00a0<\/strong>received the\u00a0“Michele Silvers Award”<\/a><\/strong> as one of the best Master Thesis on International architectural projects. Pierotti<\/strong>\u00a0attended the\u00a0\u00a0Politecnico di Milano<\/strong><\/a> and now she is working in New York City<\/strong> with Space4Architecture<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0third place<\/strong> was\u00a0Arturo Rodriguez Lopez<\/a>‘s\u00a0<\/strong>Maria’s Carnival Machine<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>with 238 likes<\/strong> on\u00a0Instagram.<\/strong>\u00a0Lopez<\/strong>\u00a0focuses on creating the space for a\u00a0sustainable environment in which the Carnival in Ponce, Puerto Rico<\/strong> can take place. He designs with the negative impact of Hurricane Maria<\/strong>\u00a0in mind.\u00a0<\/strong>Lopez<\/strong> was able to experience the architectural world in Bangkok<\/strong> in 2015 with Silpakorn University<\/a><\/strong> and Tunghai University<\/a><\/strong>. He is now working in California<\/strong> at HMC Architects<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0fourth place<\/strong> was\u00a0Fraser Morrison<\/a>‘s<\/b>\u00a0A Rubbish Tower<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>with\u00a0175 likes<\/strong> on Instagram<\/strong>.\u00a0Morrison<\/strong> attempts to explore what it\u00a0means to build vertical and how we can create new forms of environmentally positive architecture that benefit people and society. Rubbish Tower<\/strong> has been exhibited at The Royal Institute of British Architect<\/strong>s<\/a>, and\u00a0has been published\u00a0in journals and\u00a0Citizen Magazine<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In fifth\u00a0place<\/strong> was\u00a0Carlos G\u00f3mez De Ag\u00fcero’<\/a>s\u00a0<\/strong>SMART UNIVERSITY<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>with 159 likes<\/strong> on Instagram<\/strong>.\u00a0Ag\u00fcero<\/strong> created these beautiful\u00a0drafts that show how a\u00a0university can be designed that uses Internet 4.0 and other smart devices to assist in the health of the students.\u00a0Ag\u00fcero <\/strong>created this project for his final thesis at\u00a0<\/strong>CEU Monteprincipe<\/strong><\/a>, and he has now been working at Jordan Parnass Digital Architecture<\/strong><\/a> since February of this year!! \ud83d\ude4c\ud83d\ude4c<\/p>\n

In\u00a0sixth place<\/strong> was\u00a0Sanae Khalil<\/a>‘s<\/strong>\u00a0An Open Atrium to the City<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0with 137 likes<\/strong> on\u00a0Instagram.\u00a0<\/strong>Khalil<\/strong>\u00a0got an offer from FAR+DANG<\/strong><\/a> at the start of the year, and they previously worked\u00a0at Luis Vidal Architects<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as an Architectural Designer<\/strong>. The project is the legal property of Luis Vidal arquitectos<\/strong>, and Khalil got the chance to form a part of the team that designed said project.\u00a0Sanae <\/strong>has also been involved and helped develop international projects in the United States, Dominican Republic, and Spain.<\/p>\n

In seventh<\/strong>\u00a0place<\/b> was\u00a0Francesca Paola Montella<\/a>‘s\u00a0<\/strong>Tischchen Computer<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0with 71 likes<\/strong> on Instagram<\/strong>. She had worked as an Intern for 6 months at the Berlin-based\u00a0Tamandua<\/a><\/strong>, and worked along with Founder Ferdinand Schmelzer<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
