«That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind» KSC

If you have the chance to live in Florida for a while and you are enthusiastic about space exploration you must visit the Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The KSC is not another science museum, but rather a place that has become a symbol of many unforgettable moments in the spaceflight and space exploration. An example? In 1969 the Apollo 11 spacecraft that brought Neil Armstrong on the Moon took off from Kennedy Space Center, Launchpad 39A. That day the course of human history changes…”That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

As you probably have understood, my favorite part of the KSC visitor’s complex is the exhibition dedicated to the Apollo era. It’s amusing! Here you can relive the most significant steps of Apollo program, looking at the real Saturn-V rocket and lunar module designed to take astronauts to the moon, along with actual moon rocks returned to Earth….and if you want to experience the countdown for Apollo, facing the actual consoles used during the launches, and feel the powerful moon rocket lifts off from the launch pad and blast into space you should stop by at the Moon Firing Room and enjoy the show. Terrific!

As the last hint, do not miss the tour of the actual Spaceport to take a close look at the launch pads used for spacecraft take-off and icons of spaceflight operations like the Vehicle Assembly Building or historic Launch Complex 39.

I hope you will enjoy the KSC as I did!!
