It is getting very cold here! We already had some snow and winter is definitely here.
For the past months I’ve had a lot of visitors coming from Spain and I have been their tourist guide in NYC mainly. My last visit, my dearest cousin Elena, came on December when the city was already lighten up for the Christmas season.
New York in this time of year is absolutely beautiful: the lights, Chrismas carols in the radio 24/7, the ice skating rinks, the Christmas markets (the one on Bryant Park was specially beautiful!)… However, you should bear in mind that in this season everyone is trying to hunt gifts for their beloved ones, so moving in the city, specially around 5th Avenue, can be a real nightmare. But don’t let this get you cold feet! It is so worth it.
One of the things I enjoyed the most was to see the Rockefeller Christmas tree and the plaza with the famous ice rink. The lights of the tree were absolutely gorgeous and one could feel the festivity in the air! Also, it was the 80th anniversary of the Disney movie Snow White and the seven dwarves and the mall located in the building across the Rockefeller Center plaza had got a palace light decoration for their entire facade which gave it a whole different look.
I have enjoyed so much the Christmas season here. It feels truly magical!
