Small things that make me happy weekly : )

Since I live here every time I go to a new place I save it on Google Maps. Sometimes is a cool supermarket, others a new gallery, a library, and at times, a new place for tea.

Lately I started listening to some podcast and in one of the episodes a famous actress whom I can’t remember her name said that, in some point of her life she needed a life coach because she couldn’t even tell 5 things that make her happy. So I started thinking which were mine. And I found out those related with my life in New York.

  • Walk – Prospect Park.

I always need a place where I can go to relax, walk, be around, think or even not think. I do like getting to this place walking. Since I moved to this area in Brooklyn, my new “breathing” place is Prospect Park. I do love it, even more than Central Park. You can be there and you can’t even notice that you’re still in NY. You can’t see any tower or any building from inside. The lake is awesome. It’s such a familiar park, where people is biking, walking, playing…it holds the outdoors activities from the neighborhood. And also if you go on Saturday morning you can see the Farmer’s Market. The apples taste awesome!!! And the Apple Cider is a really good option for this cold weather! This has become my new tradition with one of my roomies.

  • Podcast – Death, Sex & Money.

When you live in New York daily commutes are a big part of your daily life. You can read on the subway but sometimes this is even difficult. Trains are really crowded in the busy hours and this makes reading such a difficult task. Also I design and paint… So listening to music started not being enough. So, I discovered the greatness world of the podcast. I became specially fan from “Death, Sex & Money”. I cry, I laugh. I do recommend it to everyone. The interviews are great!

  • Discovering new places – Brooklyn Historical Society DUMBO.

Since I live here every time I go to a new place I save it on Google Maps. Sometimes is a cool supermarket, others a new gallery, a library, and at times, a new place for tea.

This weekend I discovered a new place for coffee/tea, in DUMBO inside the Brooklyn Historical Society DUMBO. I drank Soba Cha.  I love it. It’s a Japanese kind of infusion. The place was very cozy and the view amazing. We could see from inside the snowy Manhattan Bridge.

  • Roomies

I do enjoy the possibility of hanging out with my roomies at home. Sharing our daily stories and having a great time even though not every day is a wonderful-awesome day. But they are amazing.

  • New People, new friends.

I do enjoy meeting new people in this city. Especially artistic people what I find completely absorbing and you can learn a lot from them, sharing different points of view or interests. What makes such an interest place this city is the whole diversity you could find.
