The futuristic Louvre in Abu Dhabi, designed by the architect Jean Nouvel, finally opens to the public this week after 10 years of hard work between France and Abu Dhabi. It probably has one of the most interesting locations, being situated on Saadiyat Island and surrounded by the sea.
The building includes 23 permanent galleries and exhibition spaces, an auditorium, a research center and a Children’s Museum, which are all linked by waterfront promenades.
