Home Alone 2 - Yellow taxi in New York.

Taxi, Uber, Via or subway?

We all have dreamed with the yellow cabs and the old beautiful NYC subway wagons, but, there are also some cheaper ways to move.

When you are in the States you would like to do everything you can to live this amazing Architect-US Experience. It may be the best experience of your life, but also your pocket suffers when we talk about moving around. We all have dreamed with the yellow cabs and the old beautiful NYC subway wagons, but, there are also some cheaper ways to move.

The MTA metrocard monthly fee costs $123, and is the best option to go to work. It’s a key point to have a good commute to go to work or just move around you you have to think about this when you are looking for an apartment. Also, think that during the weekends some subway (MTA) stations are under construction and you won’t be able to use your Metrocard. Then you have to take a cab, but they are some other options.

Uber is the first. But also Via is a new way much cheaper. It does not pick all the NY metropolitan area but almost. Both are better than taking a yellow cab. For example if a normal taxi gets you from Union Sq to Brooklyn for $20, Uber wil make it for $15, and VIA is gonna make it for $7. The bad point is that VIA does not work in the whole metropolitan area, so it is better if you find a nice apartment where they operate.

Both options are fine and pretty secure, you just have to use their app, and will have all the info of the driver just in case, as well as the car registration, and what you first pay with the app, it’s not gonna change, but If you get stuck in a jam in the center of Brooklyn Bridge inside a yellow cab, you are gonna pay for that time.

However, it’s your choice 🙂
