Storm King Art Center

It’s located only one hour north of New York City, in Mountainville, and it is a wide extension of woodlands, hills, mountains and meadows, which contains what it is probably one of the largest outdoor art exhibitions.

With the intention of stepping out of the city for a while and breath fresh air, a group of friends and I headed to Storm King Art Center some weeks ago and it happened to be the best decision.

For those who doesn’t know where it is as I didn’t at first, it is located only one hour north of New York City, in Mountainville, and it is a wide extension of woodlands, hills, mountains and meadows, which contains what it is probably one of the largest outdoor art exhibitions. The sculptures are spread throughout the park and they belong to the work of many well-known contemporary artists of our time, such as: Andy Goldsworthy, Louise Nevelson, Richard Serra and Maya Lin.

What I like the most was coming across all the sculptures without even notice, realizing that some works are only understood in movement and discovering new great artists unknown to me by then.

Fully recommended in a lovely spring/fall day when the weather is nice enough to withstand walking with barely any shadow for 4-5 hours.
