Celebrating Memorial Day in Washington DC

The trip to Washington DC was far beyond my expectations and I would definetely love to visit the city again soon along with all the museums that I didn’t have the chance to see.

Hello everyone!

Recently I had the chance to travel with my friend Marina to Washington DC for Memorial Day. It was a three day weekend since Monday was holiday and we didn’t think twice.

On the first day we went to the Pentagon Memorial, a breathtaking monument located next to the Pentagon Headquarters that was built in memory of those who died during the 9-11 attacks.  From there we walked towards the city and made the National Mall walk from the Lincoln Memorial all the way up to the Capitol. Some of the main monuments that we could see in this promenade were the Washington Monument, the World War II Memorial, the White House, the Smithsonian museums

On the second day we went to the Thomas Jefferson Memorial and enjoyed the wonderful landscape of the Tidal Basin and the surrounding park. After that we visited both the National Museum of American History and the National Museum of Natural History, both of them amazing. Some of the things that we could see there were the Star Spangled Banner of 1814 and the Hope Diamond among others.

The trip to Washington DC was far beyond my expectations and I would definetely love to visit the city again soon along with all the museums that I didn’t have the chance to see.
