Palm Springs for the weekend

Finally, in honour of my six month placement anniversary, it was time to have my very own desert getaway and soak up a bit of Palm Springs for the weekend.

I think I’ve wanted to go to Palm Springs ever since I learnt about it’s connection to Hollywood’s Golden Ages. I fell in love with the idea of the place even more once I saw pictures of Frank Sinatra‘s home there, complete with piano shaped pool.  Finally, in honour of my six month placement anniversary, it was time to have my very own desert getaway and soak up a bit of Palm Springs for the weekend.

We set off from Los Angeles on quite early on Saturday morning and arrived in Pam Spring by about 11. Ready for a whole day spent relaxing by the pool and soaking up the sun. We stayed in a converted mid-century desert modern former motel with a fancied up Denny’s. It was a really fun place to stay, great music and a good atmosphere all day and evening by the pool.

On the Sunday walked to a really popular diner for a massive breakfast, including strawberry pancakes for desert.  It was defiantly a case of ‘eyes bugger than your belly’, there was so much food! We then headed off to the Palm Spring Aerial Tramway to breath in the fresh mountain air and take in the amazing view.
