Top things to do in Washington DC

Now that I’ve been living in DC for a while I can share some of my favorite places and plans. The city has the perfect size to visit in a weekend and the people is very friendly.

Now that I’ve been living in DC for a while I can share some of my favorite places and plans. Washington DC is much smaller than NYC , it has 650,000 people, it is easy to walk and you can bike everywhere. The city has the perfect size to visit in a weekend and the people is very friendly. The easiest and cheapest way to know the city is to get a bike for 8 dollars (bike share service) if you want to spend the whole day or 2 dollars for 30 min , enough to cross the city.

One of the best things of DC is that the museums are free! Everyone is welcome and can enjoy the culture. I would highly recommend the Hirshhorn (Yayoy Kusama exhibition until 14 May), East Museum (Modern Art),  African American Museum (History), Renwick Gallery (Modern Art) or The Phillips Collection (Toulouse Lautrec Exhibition now)

Georgetown is a nice place to visit. At M street you have all the shopping, you can take a walk in the canal , have a beer in the waterfront, and visit the Georgetown university, you can even rent a canoe on the river in summer.

For some wild bike ride go to Theodore Roosevelt Island you feel in the middle of the Jungle.

The most alive streets at night are 14 st and U st NW. It is the city of happy hours so everything starts at 6 PM and end around 3 am.

There is also some interesting neighborhoods like Ivy City where the industrial building are being renovated and there is some Residential mixed with restaurants and it is also becoming a beer brewing area with a lot of terraces and good vibe.

There is good trails close to DC if you want to experience the nature. You can go to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia and to the Great Falls Park also in Virginia

Here are some places that I recommend:
