Eastern Parkway Street in Brooklyn was closed with fences and since very early in the morning, the hutches with different food and drinks were installed at both sides of the street. Some of them had music from their region, and people walking by enjoyed dancing for awhile.
It was around 12.30 pm when the carriages started to move, taking with them not only all the flags from the West Indian Regions, but also their own music, their own singers, their own dancers and their own Queens. It was amazing how people dressed themselves in feathers and tiny customs, but they were so colorful and so joyful that was contagious the good viber and all the celebration even for the foreigners.
They also took the chance and show their skills, as walking over stilts and making acrobacies, while all the people from the fences were dancing and clapping.
I really recommend to experience this day next year, it was very interesting.
